Events and Training Group – Visits to Libraries and Archives
I’m a member of the LMLAG Events and Training Group and thought I’d tell you a little about the programme of visits that we are organising. Last year we organised a series of half day visits to see the libraries and archives of LMLAG members. These included the National Gallery, the National Maritime Museum, The British Museum and the Imperial War Museum and we have started this year’s programme with a visit to the Tate. The visits have all been very well attended and we have received great feedback, with participants enjoying the opportunity to view collections and buildings, to learn about how they work and also to meet their counterparts and network. We’re keen that the visits are for those who haven’t been on such visits before and who have limited opportunity to meet others in the profession, such as library and archive assistants. We also hope this well encourage more people to get involved with LMLAG!
At the moment, the visits are only open to those who work at an LMLAG institution. Our next visit is to the Courtauld Institution on 18 March. If you would like to attend, please do get in touch (firstname.lastname@example.org)!
The Events and Training Group also organise seminars and a biennial conference, so watch this space for further details of these…
